Position Overview: The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the installation, troubleshooting, and upkeep of mechanical systems associated with coil processing machinery. This role demands proficiency in diagnosing issues and executing preventative maintenance checks.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent mechanical training and certifications.
- A strong commitment to safety practices and the ability to prioritize personal and team safety.
- Proficient in basic computer operations.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Understanding of engineering specifications and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, pumps, power transmission systems, preventive maintenance programs, welding, lubrication, and rigging.
- Familiarity with bearing installation, lubrication techniques, alignment, and causes of mechanical failures.
- Eagerness to enhance skills and knowledge through training.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, analyze, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including performing preventive maintenance and adjustments on coil processing machinery.
- Conduct mechanical repairs on industrial drive systems, including gearboxes, chains, belts, and bearings.
- Adjust and maintain various manufacturing machine systems, including operational interlocks and sensors.
- Maintain accurate records for calibrated equipment, maintenance logs, and machine history.
- Provide technical recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and equipment longevity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and refine technical solutions.
- Document maintenance activities and report any irregularities.
- Test machinery to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance in all tasks.
- Guide production personnel in routine maintenance practices.
- Manage and oversee spare parts and tooling inventory.
- Execute pipe fitting, welding, and brazing tasks as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and use of personal protective equipment.
- Implement reliability objectives within the designated area.
