Role: Mechanical Systems Engineer Technician
Type: Contract

SIGMA DESIGN is collaborating with a leading global manufacturing firm in search of a skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer Technician to enhance their operations. This role is focused on supporting the scientific sector through advanced technology solutions.

Contract Duration: Expected to last for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, bench test, troubleshoot, and enhance prototype precision robotic handling systems with micron-level accuracy.
  • Integrate these systems into highly specialized, automated electron microscopes valued in the multi-million dollar range.
  • Facilitate the transition of assembly and testing processes to production partners.
  • Support the integration and validation of these systems with internal operations teams.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, operations, engineers, and scientists from diverse fields.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in assembling, testing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex mechatronic systems, encompassing mechanical, electrical, software, and firmware components.
  • Solid understanding of precision measurement tools such as LVDT and confocal sensors, along with instrument calibration and fine mechanical adjustments.
  • Ability to create production documentation, including work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret technical data and schematics.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Background check required post-offer.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily in a standard office setting with typical office conditions. Occasionally, work may be required in environments that simulate user conditions for design testing and validation. Travel to other facilities or suppliers may also be necessary.
