Job Summary

Sigma Design is seeking a highly skilled Vibration Engineer to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. As a Vibration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced, high-precision microscopes, specializing in vibration and thermal design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct vibration and acoustic analysis, thermal management, and use FEA simulations to optimize structural and acoustic performance.
  • Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through to production, ensuring projects meet cost, quality, and timeline goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and engineers and scientists to develop highly customized, multi-million dollar microscopes.
  • Provide innovative solutions to design challenges and support release to production.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of meaningful Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Strong emphasis on Vibration analysis, Acoustic enclosure design, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in performing FEA simulations and analyzing the structural and acoustic behavior of enclosures.
  • Precision machine design proficiency, including capital equipment design for the semiconductor FAB.
  • Experience or familiarity with microscopy, vacuum, contamination, charged particle optics, high voltage, ceramics, and/or automation.
  • Experience in performing modal analysis and providing valuable insight into the dynamic characteristics of a structure.
Work Environment

Standard office environment with normal amounts of office-related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
