As a Senior Semiconductor Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert assistance for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This position involves delivering on-site support for installations, repairs, and maintenance of photolithography equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all equipment meets factory standards and specifications.
- Guide customers in the effective operation and upkeep of the equipment.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and customers for assigned projects, including installations and major component replacements.
- Conduct complex repairs and maintenance independently and collaboratively.
- Offer technical support to customers, addressing inquiries about operational procedures and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Document equipment errors and performance issues to assist in troubleshooting and maintenance efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and generate periodic reports.
- Provide training to customer personnel to ensure proficiency in service and operations.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Knowledge of optical systems, lasers, software, robotics, and precision mechanical skills.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system for troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong mechanical skills and hands-on experience with electronic testing tools.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in customer support is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Comfort in a cleanroom environment, including wearing protective gear.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires continuous physical effort, including:
- Standing, walking, sitting, and repetitive motions.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted; assistance is required for heavier loads.
- Extended periods of computer work.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
