Role Summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in the Hillsboro/Aloha region. This role focuses on providing exceptional support to our clients utilizing advanced photolithography technology in semiconductor production. You will receive comprehensive training to assist in the maintenance and operation of Canon's lithography systems, including steppers and scanners.

Note: This position necessitates a full-time commitment at designated work locations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and upkeep of semiconductor processing machinery while ensuring minimal operational downtime. Refer complex issues to senior technicians as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of semiconductor equipment to avert potential malfunctions.
  • Maintain precise records of maintenance activities and generate periodic reports.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on Canon equipment within customer facilities.
  • Offer training and support to fellow technicians and provide basic guidance to clients.
  • Engage in continuous technical training to enhance your expertise.

Qualifications and Skills

This role involves direct interaction with clients and adherence to their policies, which may include health and safety protocols.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred candidates will have 1-2 years of experience in a related field (electromechanical), such as a field service engineer or technician role within a semiconductor equipment organization. Experience with lithography and high-precision equipment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% for training during the initial months, reducing to approximately 25% thereafter (a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are essential).
  • Initial work hours will be Monday through Friday during training, transitioning to a compressed 12-hour shift schedule alternating between 3-day and 4-day work weeks.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Travel to various offices or customer sites within the U.S. may be necessary, with occasional international travel.
  • Flexibility in work hours and the ability to adapt to compressed work schedules are required.
  • This role necessitates driving for business purposes, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently, with assistance available for heavier loads.
  • Frequent standing, walking, typing, and communication are essential, along with substantial driving, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Occasional physical activities such as kneeling, crouching, and climbing may be required.
  • Close visual acuity is necessary for tasks involving detailed inspection and operation of machinery.
  • Work primarily occurs in a cleanroom environment, necessitating the use of protective gear.
  • Work conditions may involve exposure to various physical elements, including mechanical parts, electrical currents, and chemicals.
