Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing various aspects of the accounting systems, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Team to manage monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of accounting systems, integrating new systems as necessary.
  • Evaluate and improve processes and procedures continuously.
  • Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Coordinate with auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audits.
  • Contribute to the development and review of financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor cash balances and assist with cash management functions.
  • Support ESOP and 401(k) Plan-related accounting activities.
  • Lead special projects and management requests as needed.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to meet pre-employment onboarding requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a consulting or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint and Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Experience with audits, sales tax, payroll, and ESOP accounting.
  • Knowledge of corporate federal and state income taxes.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in an office environment with sufficient mobility.
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderate weights.
  • Repetitive hand movements for office equipment operation.
  • May require occasional travel for off-site engagements.
