Job Summary
The Proposal Strategist is a key member of the business development team at Burns & McDonnell, responsible for developing and executing proposal strategies to win new business opportunities. This role requires a strong understanding of the company's services and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop proposal plans, including storyboards, proposal teams, and initial proposal management plans.
- Conduct reviews and adjust marketing materials in response to feedback and requests.
- Lead the development of graphics and visuals, including the creation of distinctive value propositions.
- Perform post-submittal activities, including interviews and negotiations.
- Develop and deliver proposal services, including contract outlines and metrics.
- Support the development of business development strategies and assist with the closing of project deliverables.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build professional networks and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm.
- Experience at an A/E firm preferred.
- Excellent written, copy editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign strongly preferred.
- Certified Proposal Management Professional (APMP) preferred or equivalent.
