Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of technicians engaged in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems, ensuring efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints. Address any issues arising from the work of HVAC personnel and manage contracts with external consultants or contractors.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of time and material records by completing necessary documentation. Create and manage work schedules for team members.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, providing written assessments regarding the costs and timelines for necessary repairs or preventive maintenance for HVAC systems.
  • Stay informed about advancements in technology, procedures, and materials by reviewing relevant trade publications and safety regulations. Propose necessary equipment upgrades to management along with cost estimates.
  • Supervise employee assignments and schedules, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate employee safety training to mitigate the risk of workplace injuries. Investigate incidents and compile reports based on findings.
  • Prioritize and schedule work assignments based on urgency and significance.
  • May assign personnel for snow and ice removal tasks, determining the appropriate tools and equipment for the job.
  • Engage in ongoing training and educational initiatives, encouraging team members to participate in skill development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification, AND:

  • A minimum of 96 months of experience in construction or building maintenance related to HVAC systems, including at least 24 months in a supervisory capacity.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of materials and tools used in refrigeration repair and replacement.
  • Thorough understanding of building codes and permit requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and create complex schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex issues, explore options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Competence in estimating costs for materials, labor, and external services.
  • Proven supervisory capabilities.

Certifications:

  • Oklahoma Unlimited Mechanical Contractors License.
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; perform tasks requiring reaching, stooping, and bending; and possess good vision for color and depth perception.
  • Environmental: Regular exposure to varying weather conditions and potential safety hazards.

Supervision: Responsible for overseeing a team of 16 Senior HVAC Mechanics and Leads.
