As an Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist, your primary duty will be to maintain the effective functioning, evaluation, and oversight of industrial refrigeration systems through both preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. You will also be responsible for the installation of new systems as required. Your position entails managing maintenance tasks, diagnosing refrigeration issues, and improving the overall efficiency and safety of our manufacturing environment.
Key Duties:
- Expertise in ammonia refrigeration, including experience with compressors, ammonia pumps, condensing towers, and a comprehensive grasp of the refrigeration cycle.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, encompassing component functionality, specialized equipment, power sources, AC/DC motors, and transformers.
- Welding and cutting capabilities, emphasizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety measures, welding methods, equipment setup, gas cutting, grounding, and maintenance practices.
- Competence in computer operations and understanding of PLC systems, with strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prompt identification and reporting of potential hazards.
- Conducting quality assurance checks as per established requirements and maintaining documentation within the quality management system.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- A 2-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration, with hands-on work on compressors, pumps, condensing towers, and a solid understanding of the refrigeration cycle.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, military environments, or a technical degree is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines.
