We are excited to announce a full-time opportunity for a Patient Access Representative 3 to join our dynamic team at UHealth.
The Patient Access Representative 3 (On-Site) is responsible for overseeing the registration and financial clearance processes essential for ensuring reimbursement for services provided by the department. This role serves as a key resource for department colleagues.
CORE FUNCTIONS- Collects, verifies, and inputs demographic, financial, and clinical data necessary for the financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.
- Engages with patients' families or medical offices to gather any missing insurance details.
- Confirms insurance eligibility and coverage benefits, informing patients and referring physicians in cases of unsuccessful eligibility checks.
- Collaborates with scheduling teams to identify additional patients needing services.
- Secures necessary authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
- Informs patients of their financial responsibilities prior to service dates and collects payments.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation in the designated system.
- Acts as a lead resource for junior Patient Access Representatives.
- Proposes innovative strategies to management for improving performance and efficiency.
- Adheres to University and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
