Senior Data Engineer - Azure

At Digital Prospectors, we're seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable and reliable data infrastructure and pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from diverse sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build data infrastructure and pipelines using Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Data Pipelines, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across all datasets.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of data solutions, including troubleshooting and optimizing queries, data pipelines, and storage systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, analysts, and other data engineers to define requirements and data specifications.
  • Work alongside network engineers to define networking infrastructure requirements that support data infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure all deliverables meet necessary controls and compliance standards regarding data access, security, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Data Pipelines, Data Bricks, Azure Functions, Azure CLI, Integration Runtime, Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Pools, SQL Database, Dataverse, and data warehousing.
  • Proficient in Python, pySpark, SQL, and ETL development; experience with Azure Networking, VNets, DNS, routing, load balancing, and security.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, Azure DevOps, Azure Repos, and CI and CD pipelines for automating build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, REST APIs, C#,.NET Core, and JavaScript.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.
