Position Summary
The Senior Project Controls Manager is accountable to the Program Controls Director and is tasked with ensuring financial compliance across all projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, striving for excellence in every aspect of their work. They possess a strong grasp of cost forecasting and reporting, and are capable of supporting executive financial leadership. Accountability for precision is paramount, irrespective of the circumstances. Experience in a contracting environment, whether as a general or subcontractor, is advantageous for navigating complex financial challenges.
Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Project Controls Manager is primarily responsible for monitoring and predicting project budgets and expenditures. They ensure adherence to contractual obligations and relevant procedures throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves leading sessions focused on cost forecasting and risk analysis, collaborating with stakeholders including design teams and contractors. The Manager oversees compliance with all contractual management processes and is involved in the ongoing evaluation of commercial activities within project teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating and managing financial audits, providing necessary documentation to auditors.
- Ensuring project teams adhere to required processes and maintain accurate records.
- Compiling and maintaining reports for internal stakeholders and committees as needed.
- Overseeing project budgets to ensure alignment with approved financial plans.
- Controlling costs through diligent monitoring and ensuring timely payments to all parties involved.
- Managing changes and ensuring compliance with established change management procedures.
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with the program, maintaining updated risk registers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam is essential. Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems is required, and experience with CAD or REVIT is a plus.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years of experience, preferably in airport-related projects, with a proven track record of managing project controls teams. Experience with large-scale projects exceeding $50 million is essential. Familiarity with various project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build, is required. Strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of industry standards are crucial. A proactive, results-driven approach is necessary, along with the ability to engage with diverse teams.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, or Construction Management is required. A Master's degree is preferred, and additional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, or AICP are advantageous.
Additional Notes
Flexibility in work hours may be required, including the possibility of working beyond standard shifts. The salary for this position is commensurate with education and experience, with a range of $160K-$180K.
