Job Overview

Position Summary: We are looking for a meticulous and highly organized Real Estate Financial Analyst to contribute to our finance team. The successful candidate will possess experience in real estate financial management and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. The Real Estate Financial Analyst will oversee the financial activities associated with property management, ensuring precise financial reporting and enhancing overall property efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for designated properties.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy in financial documentation.
    • Examine financial reports to detect inconsistencies and trends.

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    • Manage invoice processing, payment tracking, and vendor account oversight.
    • Supervise tenant billing and collection efforts, ensuring prompt rent collection and correct payment application.
    • Address overdue accounts and liaise with collection agencies when necessary.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Assist in formulating and monitoring property budgets.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses to aid property management decisions.
    • Review and assess operating expenses to confirm adherence to budgetary constraints.

  • Support for Property Management:
    • Collaborate with property managers and leasing agents to ensure accurate financial transaction recording.
    • Provide financial insights and reports to facilitate property management decisions.
    • Assist in the development of property performance reports and presentations.

  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and legal regulations.
    • Maintain precise and current financial records and documentation for properties.
    • Prepare materials for audits and support auditors as required.

  • Process Enhancement:
    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
    • Optimize accounting procedures to boost efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate accounting or a comparable role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of local and federal tax regulations and compliance standards related to property management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification.
  • Experience in commercial real estate accounting.
  • Familiarity with Texas real estate regulations and property management practices.
