The Real Estate Financial Analyst will deliver comprehensive accounting and reporting services for a diverse portfolio of retail properties and play a vital role within the management team. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate monthly financial reports for a selection of properties.
- Compile monthly reporting packages as requested by stakeholders.
- Create supplementary reporting schedules as needed by management.
- Timely reconciliation of bank statements and resolution of discrepancies.
- Develop the annual budget by gathering essential assumptions and capital expenditure data.
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including monitoring cash receipts, billing tenant charges, and handling percentage rent calculations.
- Oversee the accounts payable process, collaborating with property management to ensure accurate invoice coding and retention of supporting documents in accounting systems.
- Input lease information into the property management system for new agreements, extensions, and modifications.
- Conduct annual year-end reconciliations for common area maintenance, insurance, property taxes, and more.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for corporate financial items.
- Ensure timely completion of balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Engage in ad hoc projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager and Vice President of Accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Consistent adherence to professional values and work ethics.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel; familiarity with Yardi is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail, effective time management, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
