Electrical Engineer for Space Instrumentation

As a proficient electrical engineer with extensive experience in electronics design, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and technicians. Your role will involve mentoring junior staff in the development of system architectures, defining specifications, and conducting modeling and simulation, while also leading technical troubleshooting and debugging initiatives.
Your contributions will support the design of high-reliability embedded electronics for various scientific and national security missions within the Intelligence and Space Research Division. These missions encompass critical areas such as verification of international nuclear test ban treaties, scientific exploration, nuclear nonproliferation efforts, space situational awareness, and remote sensing.
As a recognized technical leader, you will utilize your advanced skills in electronics design and collaborate with project leadership to thoroughly evaluate design variables and make informed technical decisions.
The Space Electronics and Signal Processing Group is seeking experienced R&D Electrical Engineers to lead the design and development of innovative measurement systems, which will ultimately be deployed in space for national security applications and NASA missions.
This role embodies the essence of comprehensive engineering; once systems are designed, built, and tested, you will provide subject matter expertise for payload delivery, launch, and operational support throughout the mission lifecycle, whether in Earth orbit, on Mars, or in deep space.
Our division's instruments are utilized on over 200 satellites, including numerous NASA missions, contributing to significant advancements in our understanding of space and national security.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the research, design, verification, and validation of electrical engineering solutions.
- Debug and troubleshoot circuits and prototypes effectively.
- Utilize configuration management tools and processes proficiently.
- Engage in advanced design across various electrical engineering domains, including analog, digital, and power supply design.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor entry-level engineers.
A Master's Degree in Engineering along with 12 years of relevant experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with space-flight hardware development and verification methods is highly desirable, as well as knowledge of best practices for maintaining signal integrity in mixed analog/digital designs.
