Position Overview

The Technology Applications Group (A-3) is on the lookout for an Electrical Engineer dedicated to addressing critical national security issues.

A-3 encompasses a diverse array of engineering and scientific talents committed to providing effective solutions for stakeholders within the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the Intelligence Community.

A-3 is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative team of engineers, scientists, technicians, and technologists focused on converting concepts and designs into practical products that fulfill Global Security mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will primarily engage in:

  • Utilizing fundamental engineering principles to assist in the design, construction, prototyping, testing, and analysis of electrical systems.
  • Working autonomously while also contributing to team efforts, often under tight operational timelines.
  • Participating in projects at the Q and SCI levels.

Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Collaboration and technical skills within a multidisciplinary operational framework.
  • Proficiency in conducting basic engineering research, both independently and collaboratively.
  • A willingness to acquire new skills and develop expertise in emerging areas.

Technical Expertise
Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Electronic systems, including analog or digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout.
  • Embedded systems design and firmware development.
  • Signal processing, encompassing time and frequency domain analysis and filter design.
  • RF and microwave systems design, including transmitter and receiver development.
  • Electromagnetics theory and its applications.
  • Experience in measurement across mechanical, electromagnetic, radiographic, or optical fields.
  • Proven ability to design, construct, and troubleshoot hardware systems.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.

Educational Background
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, along with two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, candidates with experience in the following areas will be viewed favorably:

  • Bare metal programming for microcontrollers.
  • Software-defined radio.
  • Antenna design, particularly miniaturized structures.
  • Applied electromagnetics, especially in pulsed power.
  • Electromagnetics modeling and simulation.
  • FPGA devices and hardware description languages.
  • Electromechanical systems integration.
  • Reverse engineering of electronic systems.
  • Software engineering and data analysis.
