Enclos is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to enhance our engineering team. Enclos is a prominent, privately owned facade contractor renowned for its expertise in the design, engineering, fabrication, assembly, and installation of custom facade systems. We provide comprehensive design-build services to the construction industry, specializing in innovative architectural solutions and complex building projects. Our engineers are experts in tall buildings, seismic design, high-security structures, unitized curtainwall, and specialty facade systems.

Position Overview:

  • Registered Professional Engineer responsible for the engineering services related to the design, fabrication, and installation of curtainwall systems.
  • Oversees project coordination, ensuring seamless design, fabrication, and installation processes.
  • Reviews and certifies facade shop drawings and structural calculations.
  • Mentors junior engineers, fostering their development in structural engineering, curtainwall systems, leadership, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Engineer of Record for curtainwall and facade projects.
  • Leads the design and coordination of shop drawings, structural calculations, and as-built documentation.
  • Reviews and certifies structural calculations and shop drawings.
  • Manages multiple projects, delegating tasks to junior engineers while ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Supports other engineering projects under the guidance of senior P.E.s.
  • Utilizes hand sketches and CAD software to draft engineering solutions.
  • Conducts system analysis using hand calculations and CAE software.
  • Provides software support within the structural engineering team.
  • Designs facades in accordance with best practices, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Encourages collaboration within diverse teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Works independently and may review the work of peers.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Serves as the primary contact for structural inquiries.
  • Develops innovative solutions to design and field challenges.
  • Creates and maintains a Structural Master Document Index (MDI).
  • Conducts performance reviews for junior engineers as necessary.
  • Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Participates in performance mockups and site observations as required.
  • Serves as a role model for professionalism within the Structural Engineering group.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural preferred).
  • Registered as a P.E. or S.E. in the state of residence.
  • Experience with performance mockups and construction site observations.
  • Preferred Structural Engineering (S.E.) License.
  • Experience in curtainwall project design and fieldwork (1+ large/complex projects or 3+ small/conventional projects).
