We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Field Evaluator to be part of our dynamic team. This role involves inspecting structural elements at various client sites and documenting any structural issues for client reference. The position requires gathering field measurements, conducting thorough inspections, and assessing existing conditions in a heavy industrial setting. Candidates should be ready to embrace these responsibilities and will receive comprehensive training for working in such environments. Additionally, report writing and the analysis of field data are integral aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify potential defects and irregularities in structural systems, providing recommendations for appropriate corrective actions for less complex issues.
- Interpret and understand technical drawings accurately.
- Acquire job-related knowledge primarily through verbal instruction and hands-on training.
- Utilize visual aids such as blueprints and schematic diagrams effectively.
- Apply extensive knowledge across various assignments, particularly those involving unique or specialized challenges.
- Depend on experience and judgment to set and achieve objectives.
- Complete training modules developed by the company.
- Engage directly with client representatives as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using computers and tablets in both office and field settings.
- This role necessitates travel within the state and potentially to other locations as required.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
- Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, as well as extreme temperatures.
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate.
- Be prepared to assist with urgent assignments that may arise with short notice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in inspection.
- Successful completion of a fit-for-duty assessment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience in nondestructive testing.
- Certification as a welding inspector.
- American Petroleum Inspector certifications 510, 570, or 653.
- NACE coating inspector certification.
- Background in shop welding, fabrication, or quality inspection in related fields.
