Chief Executive Officer (Non-Profit) - Direct Hire

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $80,000 +

Overview:

The Chief Executive Officer is accountable to the Board of Directors for the effective and efficient management of a faith-based organization. This role provides strategic leadership and direction for the organization.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be necessary within the organization's operational areas and for special projects as approved by the board.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary representative of the organization, advocating for affordable housing initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with local coalitions, media, supporters, and donors, including individuals, corporations, and government entities.
  • Guide staff and board members in fundraising efforts, focusing on major donors and foundations.
Operational Leadership:
  • Act as the Chief Administrator overseeing all organizational operations, including construction, volunteer management, fundraising, and public relations.
  • Implement policies approved by the board and assist in the review and revision of organizational best practices.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Financial Oversight:
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's financial health and ensure adherence to sound financial practices.
  • Secure necessary funding through diverse sources, including fundraising and grant applications.
  • Collaborate with the finance committee and board to prepare and manage the annual budget.
  • Provide financial training to board members to ensure understanding of fiscal responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant mortgage laws and regulations.
Board Support:
  • Keep the Board of Directors informed about organizational activities, successes, and challenges.
  • Assist the board in strategic planning and policy setting.
  • Participate actively in board meetings and support the creation of agendas and documents.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and training of new board members.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in non-profit leadership, particularly in affordable housing.
  • Proven track record of working with a Board of Directors.
  • Successful history in non-profit fundraising, including grant writing and donor relations.
  • Knowledge of mortgage regulations and real estate practices.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80,000 - $90,000.00 Per Year
