About the Role

The Port of Seattle is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Economic Development Director to lead our economic development efforts and drive growth in the region. As a key member of our executive team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize economic opportunities and promote business development in the area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Economic Development Strategies: Create and execute plans to attract businesses, promote economic growth, and enhance the region's competitiveness.
  • Lead Real Estate Development Efforts: Oversee the development of Port properties and identify opportunities for acquisition and development to support economic growth.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Foster relationships with local, regional, and national organizations to promote economic development and business growth.
  • Drive Business Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities that align with the Port's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements
  • 10+ Years of Economic Development Experience: Proven track record of leading economic development efforts and driving business growth.
  • Senior Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage economic development functions and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Excellent understanding of business development principles and practices.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively.
