New England Donor Services (NEDS) is responsible for coordinating organ and tissue donation across several states, serving a vast population and working closely with numerous hospitals. As one of the largest Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) in the nation, we manage thousands of potential donor referrals each year and are dedicated to enhancing the life-saving gifts of organ and tissue donation.

Position Summary

As an Inventory Control Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our mission to "Save and Heal Lives." This position involves overseeing supply inventory across various NEDS locations. Your responsibilities will encompass shipping and receiving, ordering and stocking clinical supplies, and managing inventory levels through a barcode inventory management system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the shipping of recovered human tissue to processing facilities.
  • Prepare organ and tissue recovery packs for surgical procedures.
  • Oversee inventory management and supplies for daily clinical operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor clinical equipment and ensure proper documentation as required.

Additional duties include organizing stock, ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of instrument kits, and managing the disposal of medical waste in accordance with NEDS standards.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in a medical or hospital setting, particularly in inventory control or central processing, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn internal systems.
  • Physical capability to handle supplies weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • This role requires availability for weekends, mandatory overtime, and occasional travel to satellite offices.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
