Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Shaker for ChristianaCare Direct. As a key member of our clinical research team, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing clinical trials in hematology and oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, enroll, plan, implement, and evaluate protocol-related care of participants and data for assigned research projects.
  • Follow study-specific protocol guidelines, communicate, and interact with investigators, hospital staff, department manager, sponsoring agencies, and others to effectively perform clinical research activities.
  • Coordinate all aspects of protocol treatment and monitoring, ensuring everything is completed and documented.
  • Maintain patient research charts containing source documents supporting all reported data.
  • Develop methods and systems to ensure patient compliance with protocol procedures, using a problem-solving process when non-compliance occurs.
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new or less experienced research nurse coordinators, clinical research associates, and support staff.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and tumor conferences, pre-screen patients for participation in clinical trials, and educate other professionals regarding specific clinical trials.
  • Collect, document, and report medical data required by study protocols from numerous resources, using multiple data reporting systems.
  • Interpret complex laboratory, pathology, and molecular testing results to determine study eligibility and outcomes.
  • Develop new data collection forms as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, determine patient eligibility for specific trials and perform ongoing informed consent.
Requirements
  • DE RN License or Compact Nursing License
  • BSN required or commitment to obtain BSN within three years of the hire date
  • BLS Required
  • Minimum of two years oncology experience required
  • Certification in oncology nursing preferred
