The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is a key institution within the Federal Reserve System, responsible for implementing monetary policy, supervising financial institutions, and providing essential financial services. This regional bank serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
Position Overview:
The Financial Monitoring Group (FMG) within the Supervision, Regulation and Credit (SRC) department is seeking a dedicated quantitative analyst to enhance the oversight of consumer credit risk at major banking institutions. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in consumer credit dynamics, strong analytical capabilities to interpret extensive datasets, and the proficiency to convey insights derived from data analysis. Effective communication and time management skills are essential, and familiarity with large datasets or data visualization tools is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation or execution of supervisory retail loss models and the associated data analysis, contributing to the DFAST and CCAR initiatives.
- Engage in the assessment of consumer credit or fixed income securities, monitoring key variables to pinpoint potential risks for bank examiners and related personnel.
- Collaborate with senior analysts on statistical and econometric research projects, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Participate in departmental or system-wide projects of varying complexity.
- Exhibit effective SRC Core Competency skills appropriate for the role.
- Fulfill additional related tasks as assigned.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational quality initiatives.
- Adhere to all relevant information security policies and practices.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as economics, finance, or statistics.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in banking, supervision, or finance is required.
- An advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Communication Skills: Ability to present complex findings clearly and engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in identifying issues through data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Data Analysis: Experience with large datasets and statistical software such as SAS or Stata is essential.
- Interpersonal Skills: Capability to lead teams and foster productive relationships.
- Time Management: Skillful in managing complex supervisory issues to meet organizational objectives.
Additional Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States and must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, or hold a permanent resident status with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary grade for this position is 11/13, with final compensation determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and various additional perks.
Work Environment:
This position is not fully remote; a hybrid work arrangement is expected.
