About the Role:

The Senior Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in evaluating and managing credit risks. This position involves thorough research and analysis of credit histories to determine the viability of extending credit to potential clients. The analyst will collaborate with various departments within the company, engage with automobile dealers, and liaise with other financial institutions. Furthermore, the Senior Credit Analyst will be responsible for nurturing dealer relationships, processing incoming applications, and ensuring compliance with both State and Federal regulations.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Evaluate credit information to assess the level of risk associated with credit extensions.
  • Make informed decisions regarding credit approvals or denials within the established authority and regulatory framework.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers to achieve volume and quality objectives.
  • Secure automotive finance contracts that align with GM Financial's profitability standards.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Foster collaboration among departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage queues to meet service level expectations.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to dealer customers through telemarketing.
  • Participate in joint dealer visits with Dealer Account Representatives as necessary.
  • Verify that all necessary documentation is obtained for each transaction.
  • Negotiate favorable loan terms.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

What Makes You an Ideal Candidate:

  • Understanding of sales, credit, and funding processes within consumer finance.
  • Familiarity with motor vehicle retail installment documentation.
  • Knowledge of the company's credit policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of consumer credit, relevant laws, and regulations.
  • Insight into the retail automobile finance sector.
  • Experience with indirect retail auto financing.
  • Awareness of State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Background in consumer finance and banking environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Sales acumen to cultivate and sustain productive dealer relationships.
  • Negotiation proficiency.

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
