Position Overview:

The Financial Monitoring Group (FMG) within the Supervision, Regulation and Credit (SRC) department is in search of a dedicated quantitative analyst to enhance the oversight of consumer credit risk at major banking institutions. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in consumer credit risk, adept analytical skills to interpret extensive datasets, and the capability to convey insights derived from data. Strong communication and time management abilities are essential, along with experience in handling large datasets or utilizing data visualization tools.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the qualitative assessment of industry models as part of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) process.
  • Assist in analyzing consumer credit by monitoring key performance indicators to identify potential emerging risks for bank examiners and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on analytical reports, which includes data collection, analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to various audiences.
  • Participate in departmental or system-wide projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Exhibit effective SRC Core Competency skills appropriate for the role.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Contribute actively to departmental and Bank-wide quality initiatives.
  • Adhere to all relevant information security policies and practices.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as economics, finance, or statistics.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in banking, financial supervision, or a related field is required.
  • An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • Experience may be supplemented with advanced degrees in relevant fields.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Intermediate proficiency in written and verbal communication, capable of presenting complex supervisory matters effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root-cause analysis and identify underlying issues.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis to monitor key variables and identify emerging risks in the financial sector.
  • Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, SAS, or Tableau is preferred.
  • Intermediate interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and resolve complex issues.
  • Effective time management skills to handle complex supervisory issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, demonstrating motivation and interest in consumer credit or banking risk.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary grade for this position is 11/13. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant's background, experience, skills, and internal equity.
