Position Overview:

We are in search of individuals who are passionate about giving back to their community and are interested in gaining experience in the social services sector. As a Housing Support Monitor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of the facility, enforcing resident guidelines, participating in emergency response efforts, and collaborating with case managers to guarantee that clients receive the necessary support services. Your contributions will be essential to the success of Community of Hope's Housing Program, fostering an environment of hope and transformation as we assist individuals in transitioning to their own homes. This position offers both Full and Part-Time opportunities with various shifts available, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Available Shifts:

Sunday through Thursday: 12a-8a, 8a-4p, 4p-12a

Tuesday through Saturday: 12a-8a, 8a-4p, 4p-12a

Friday through Monday: 4p-12a

Friday and Saturday: 12a-8a, 8a-4p

The compensation for this role ranges from $18.00 per hour, with the final offer based on the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Housing Support Monitor Duties:
  • Comply with all policies and expectations outlined in the Housing Support Monitor Handbook.
  • Arrive punctually to facilitate the exchange of relevant information with the outgoing staff member.
  • Regularly monitor common areas within the facility, including the lobby and exterior, to prevent loitering, and conduct rounds throughout the premises. Observe security cameras for activity and address any issues as necessary.
  • Answer phone calls in a courteous manner, transfer calls, and provide information while maintaining resident confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Ensure that visitors, volunteers, and agency representatives are signed in and out, documenting staff arrivals and departures in the shift log.
  • Conduct nightly curfew checks by knocking on unit doors and documenting occupancy. Inquire about the whereabouts of children if they are not present.
  • Communicate with the Program Director and/or Case Manager regarding visits from outside agencies.
  • Complete incident reports for unusual occurrences and emergencies, submitting them to the Program Director or On-Call Supervisor promptly.
  • Inform residents of program rules and regulations, enforcing them as needed.
  • Provide assistance to residents as required, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge of the building's security system and provide necessary support for its optimal operation.
  • Receive briefings from outgoing staff before beginning shifts and remain at the front desk until relieved.
  • Screen individuals seeking access to the building, checking IDs and ensuring proper sign-in procedures are followed.
  • Safeguard key/access cards and report any missing or damaged cards immediately.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit TV security footage and respond to any suspected security violations by notifying appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Google Mail.
  • Ability to act responsibly and professionally under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented writing skills for shift and incident reports.
  • Experience in a residential environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with homeless populations is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as clearing walkways in inclement weather.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at various Community of Hope locations as needed.
