The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the Facilities Department, supporting all other operational areas. Our business operates continuously, requiring flexibility in scheduling and responsibilities as dictated by operational needs. It is essential to maintain a welcoming service environment at all times.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver outstanding service to guests consistently, anticipating and surpassing their expectations.

· Perform general maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, and painting, while being proficient in the use of hand and power tools, as well as reading and interpreting measurement devices.

· Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and operational instructions.

· Complete work orders and may oversee or train specific personnel.

· Identify malfunctions, disassemble and repair equipment, and install necessary components.

· Ensure all equipment is maintained and secured properly.

· Conduct structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings, including patching or replacing plaster, painting surfaces, and laying flooring materials.

· Execute tasks such as bending/cutting conduit, cleaning drains, and performing basic plumbing and electrical maintenance.

· Regularly inspect exterior and public area lighting, maintaining an adequate inventory of spare parts and bulbs.

· Conduct property inspections in the morning and evening.

· Maintain accurate records of daily checklists, meter readings, and maintenance logs.

· Keep the work area clean and organized in accordance with company standards.

· Promote energy conservation practices.

· Safeguard the confidentiality of guest and hotel information.

· Complete all assigned preventive maintenance tasks punctually.

· Maintain acceptable inspection scores and audit results.

· Respond promptly to all communications from management.

· Adhere to scheduled shifts and comply with attendance policies.

· Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for guests and colleagues.

· Utilize approved chemicals safely and label containers accurately, wearing appropriate protective gear.

· Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activities to management.

· Regularly lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance, following proper lifting techniques.

· Engage in various physical activities including standing, walking, reaching, and climbing.

· Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record, with any additional endorsements required for operating company vehicles.

· Coordinate with vendors for services such as snow removal and grounds maintenance, obtaining bids and monitoring service quality.

· Wear the designated uniform, including a name tag and tool belt, at all times.

· Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management, addressing guest concerns professionally.

· Foster a positive team environment and morale.

· Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, services, and local amenities.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and hygiene.

· Uphold high standards of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with company grooming policies.

· Exhibit flexibility in job functions and perform other reasonable duties as assigned to meet business demands.

· Handle all equipment and supplies with care to minimize damage and waste.

· Deliver on the brand promise by providing exceptional, friendly, and professional service at all times.

· Familiarize oneself with the company's policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and emergency protocols.

· Maintain open communication with management.

· Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in maintenance or handyman roles (2 years preferred).
