Job Overview

Under the supervision of the E&I Manager, the Hardware Engineer is responsible for the routine assessment, maintenance, design, and enhancement of various radar and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, subsystems, and components. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of operators, technicians, and engineers. The nature of work assignments will differ, with a primary focus on mission support and ensuring the operational readiness of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with RF Engineers and Operations & Maintenance personnel to facilitate the sustainment of current threat and EW systems.

Contribute to systems integration by partnering with project teams and vendors to deploy systems, ensuring the following aspects are addressed:

  • Identify and document system-level requirements for range integration, including power, communication, instrumentation, and command & control.
  • Validate existing power, communication, instrumentation, and command and control (C2) systems through collaboration with fellow engineers.
  • Develop processes and procedures that enhance training and technician competency for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Recommend and conduct testing, implement equipment modifications, and suggest corrections to design deficiencies by evaluating the operational capabilities of systems/equipment and reviewing performance data against established standards.
  • Research, plan, and assist in the design and modification of both existing and new threat and EW systems.
  • Analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess the feasibility of design or application.
  • Troubleshoot and effectively resolve system issues in collaboration with technicians and vendors.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and support operations as needed.
  • Provide reports, status updates, and maintain records in a maintenance management system.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in radar, electronic, and data processing/control systems related to fielding, integration, and sustainment.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of contemporary engineering practices and standards.
  • Ability to apply electrical engineering design principles and techniques to specific projects while managing tasks efficiently.
  • Capability to provide technical guidance to engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information tactfully.
  • Proficient in preparing various technical reports, manuals, and other written communications.
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to completing tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in managing client and stakeholder expectations to meet commitments.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Must be able to operate in a field environment, including remote locations. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, towers, and equipment up to 50 feet. A valid driver's license is required. Strong computer and organizational skills are essential. Willingness to travel as necessary for company needs, and the ability to work varied shifts, long hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and others encountered in the course of duties.

Licenses or Certifications Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Possession of a valid NV state-issued driver's license.
