Job Description

Harris Homes, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of youth, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate leader to serve as its Executive Director. This is a pivotal role that requires a strategic vision to expand our reach and deepen our impact within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Chief Spokesperson: Effectively communicate organizational achievements and needs to the public and all stakeholders.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure adherence to licensing standards, the Reasonable and Prudent Parenting Standard, and organizational policies.
  • Policy Implementation: Translate the Board's policies and directives into effective programs.
  • Program Management: Oversee and report on the childcare program's operations and its alignment with established policies.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Maintain compliance with local and State DHR reporting requirements.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage the annual budget, overseeing all expenditures.
  • Community Engagement: Lead monthly outreach meetings to cultivate new supporters and contributors.
  • Relationship Building: Build and mobilize community relationships to support organizational goals.
  • Grant Writing and Fundraising: Secure grants and actively collaborate with other organizations to obtain funding.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles
  • Master's degree required
  • Proven integrity, honesty, ethical leadership, compassion, and self-motivation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in leadership roles
  • Background in social work is highly advantageous
  • Strong experience in financial management and non-profit sectors preferred
  • Demonstrable experience working with children is desirable
  • Grant writing experience is highly preferred
