Program Insights

This position encompasses responsibilities within two key programs:

  • Philip Reid: Delivering shelter and transitional housing solutions for youth aged up to 24 years.
  • PASSAGES: Facilitating transitional housing for homeless youth within the same age bracket.

Role Summary

As a Youth Housing Support Coordinator, you will work under the guidance of Program Manager(s) to assist clients in identifying safe and affordable housing alternatives.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or a minimum of three years of experience in working with at-risk youth populations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of housing subsidies, regulations, and the local housing market.
  • Familiarity with social services associated with housing assistance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to establish housing objectives and tackle any obstacles.
  • Forge partnerships with community organizations and landlords.
  • Assist clients throughout the housing search and application journey.
  • Conduct property inspections and support the move-in process.
  • Connect clients with additional services for ongoing support and permanent housing solutions.
  • Lead life skills workshops focused on housing-related topics.
  • Provide crisis intervention and counseling as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and case files.
  • Engage in team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach events.
  • Availability for evening and weekend responsibilities.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required.
