Job Overview

Position Summary

Global Diving & Salvage, LLC is currently in search of skilled Underwater Operations Specialists. This role involves reporting to the Regional Dive Operations Manager and encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting dives and performing additional tasks as instructed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensuring personal diving gear is functional and appropriate for the dive plan.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the dive strategy and being capable of executing the assigned tasks.
  • Familiarity with routine and emergency protocols.
  • Reporting any medical issues or symptoms experienced during or following dives.
  • Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions, potential risks, near misses, or incidents.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date logbook, ensuring it is signed by the Supervisor after each dive.

Essential Qualifications

  • Prior maritime experience and familiarity with diving support apparatus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards for equipment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license and car insurance are required, along with a driving record for the past three years.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Submission of the last four dive logs is necessary.
  • Current certifications for all diver-owned equipment (e.g., helmet, tanks, etc.) are required.
  • A valid diving physical or the ability to pass one is essential.
  • Capability to wear a commercial diving helmet weighing 25-30 lbs for approximately four hours daily.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including rain, sleet, storms, snow, and heat.
  • Flexibility to travel for remote or extended projects as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Availability for 24/7 work based on project or emergency response requirements.
  • Current ADCI Card is required.
  • Oxygen Provider/DANO2 certification.
  • NITROX/Enriched Air Oxygen certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Eligibility to join or be a member of a local union.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction course completion certificate.
  • TWIC card is necessary.

Experience Requirements

Graduation from a commercial diver training program accredited by the Association of Diving Educators (ACDE) or other recognized bodies in IMCA is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of underwater diving experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Willingness to work internationally.
  • IMCA Certified/International Certification cards.
  • Possession of a current passport.
  • Boater's Card.

Work Location: Opportunities may involve travel based on project needs.
