POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Operations Specialist will engage in a variety of laboratory and production tasks under the supervision of the Production Manager and Lead. This position involves aiding in product processing and formulation, operating laboratory machinery, ensuring cleanliness, and upholding efficiency and quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask, work effectively in a dynamic environment, and adapt to shifting priorities. A strong sense of motivation, reliability, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
Core Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assist the production team with daily manufacturing operations
- Learn to operate and oversee production equipment under guidance
- Support quality assurance processes, including inspections and testing of raw materials and finished products
- Identify and report discrepancies from quality benchmarks
- Become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to cannabis production
- Collaborate with experienced personnel to ensure compliance with manufacturing regulations
- Learn to monitor and maintain production equipment
- Participate in routine equipment evaluations and report any issues or irregularities
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various production processes
- Contribute to the development and refinement of SOPs as necessary
- Assist in managing inventory levels and tracking raw materials and finished products
- Learn inventory management systems and protocols
- Engage in safety training sessions and comply with safety guidelines
- Understand and implement good manufacturing practices (GMP) to ensure a safe working environment
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and accurately
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail

- Familiarity with State of Hawai'i laws, regulations, and rules related to medical marijuana
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving, and challenging environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively, both independently and within a team, with a diverse group of individuals
Education & Background Requirements:
- Must possess a valid, unexpired driver's license
- Must remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for employment in the cannabis sector
- Minimum age of 21 years as mandated by state law
- Must have Department of Health clearance and Fingerprinting, as required by state regulations
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 2-3 years of laboratory experience (or relevant field) is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout an 8–10-hour workday
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must have reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19
- Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Schedule: Varies; Monday – Thursday; 6:30 AM – 5 PM (weekends & holidays as needed)
Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Starting Pay: $18/Hr.
