Job Title: Certified Peer Support Specialist - Wake County

At SouthLight Healthcare, we are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Wake County. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing individualized, strengths-focused community-based interactions with assigned caseload to promote the development of wellness self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills, and development of independent living skills for housing, employment, and full community inclusion.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
  • Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
  • Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
  • Provide linkage to community resources
  • Maintain and submit documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service auth requests)
Qualifications:
  • Current Peer Support Certification
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure
