Job Description:

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at The University of Chicago Medicine as a Client Service Specialist in the Anatomic Pathology department. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service to laboratory outreach clients, physicians, and staff in a high-stress environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional client service through phone, email, live chat, or fax, responding to client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform accessioning of consultation and referral materials, supporting the transfer of patient care to UChicago Medicine or providing secondary opinions to outreach clients.
  • Support the send-back of patient materials to originating facilities and coordinate the mailing of referral tests to external labs and triage of specimens to in-house laboratories.
  • Assist in the daily operations of all outreach collections facilities, following up with client requests and issues.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in clinical laboratory science, life sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge and ability to handle and prepare various laboratory specimen types.
  • Ability to use laboratory/hospital information systems and automated/conventional laboratory equipment.
  • Superior customer service skills, including positive language, clear communication, and phone etiquette.
