Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interdisciplinary Supervisory General Engineer/Physical Scientist to join our team at the Department of Energy. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers and scientists to develop and implement technical programs and projects related to environmental and scientific aspects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and scientists to develop and implement technical programs and projects related to environmental and scientific aspects.
  • Develop and implement project review methodologies to support decision-making.
  • Assist in managing OCED contracts and providing support services to contractors.
  • Review and evaluate technical aspects of design and construction progress in accordance with established milestone costs and technical requirements.
  • Conduct independent engineering reviews and other technical assessments of projects.
Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in a physical science, engineering, or mathematics field.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service.
  • Must have experience leading a team of engineers and scientists to develop and implement technical programs and projects related to environmental and scientific aspects.
  • Must have experience developing and implementing project review methodologies to support decision-making.
  • Must have experience reviewing and evaluating technical aspects of design and construction progress in accordance with established milestone costs and technical requirements.
