Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist V to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance work on our buildings and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections, adjustments, maintenance, and repair work on building systems, including doors, door locks, and door hardware, as well as fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Design and implement projects to modernize buildings and systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment failures, and take corrective action to ensure safe and uninterrupted services.
  • Act as a lead worker, providing direction and training to others on construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of building repair, maintenance, and operations, as well as industrial safety and fire regulations.
  • Skills in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment, as well as preventative maintenance and inspections of buildings and systems.
  • Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, and estimate materials, as well as apply proper methods, techniques, and procedures in the maintenance and repair of buildings and systems.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches, and organize preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
