Job Description and Duties

As a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst with the California Public Utilities Commission, you will play a critical role in shaping the state's energy policy and ensuring the reliability and affordability of energy services. This position requires a strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and policy analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Electric Market Design Section in developing work products that advise and assist high-level decision-makers on energy policy and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct complex economic, regulatory, and financial analyses to inform policy decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and present reports, white papers, and other written materials to communicate complex technical information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other California organizations and agencies to advance the state's energy policy goals.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as economics, finance, or public policy.
  • At least 2 years of experience in energy policy analysis, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
