Position Overview
The California Public Utilities Commission is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting the state's commitment to clean energy and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of statewide initiatives, particularly the California Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) program, aimed at minimizing fossil fuel usage and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior officials, including Commissioners and Energy Division management, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Lead and coordinate renewable energy analysis projects, which encompass policy evaluation, technical assessments, and data management.
- Conduct independent analyses of regulatory and policy issues, delivering actionable recommendations.
- Engage in the development of analyses and recommendations related to policy-setting rulemakings, and review proposed legislative measures.
- Collaborate with various California organizations and agencies to enhance program implementation and respond to external inquiries.
Working Conditions
This position requires travel and may offer telework options for eligible candidates residing in California.
