Job Summary

Draper is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Machine Shop Coordinator to support all general machine shop operations. This individual will work closely with the Machine Shop Supervisor to process incoming work requests, procure files/materials, track job status, and facilitate the smooth execution of work from receipt to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming work requests and track job status
  • Procure files/materials and coordinate with vendors
  • Work with the calibration lab to ensure shop equipment is up to date in the calibration system
  • Track chemicals, limited life materials, tools, and other consumables
  • Communicate with engineering on shop processes, required information, lead times, and status updates
  • Develop and grow general shop operating procedures
  • Coordinate with internal and external vendors for post-processing applications
  • Maintain and develop job scheduling and capacity planning tools
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a lab or facility operations management role
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with facility users and engineering team
  • Familiarity with MRP Security
