Federal HR Assistant

Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking an experienced Federal HR Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the HR department, you will play a crucial role in providing support for the processing of personnel actions and records management.
Job Summary:The Federal HR Assistant will work closely with the Talent Acquisitions team, the Transactions Specialists, and Benefits Specialists to process and onboard new applicants. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for new employee orientation, offboarding, and processing personnel actions.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support for new employee orientation and offboarding.
- Process personnel actions, including SF-52s and SF-50s.
- Support HC staff with administrative needs.
- Input and verify documents for employment in the USA Staffing database.
- Stay apprised of human resource terminology, requirements, and procedures.
- Ensure that the correct documentation is submitted with all personnel actions.
- Process all documents associated with inputting SF-52s and SF-50s.
- Contacts employees or supervisors to resolve questions before processing final actions.
- Provide support to Talent Acquisitions and Transactions Division Specialists.
- Coordinate EOD dates for new hires and follow-up with all candidates with offer letters.
- Participate in conducting new employee orientation.
- Responsible for onboarding procedures and requirements.
- Update GPO's SF52 Dashboard/Tracker with accurate and concise information.
- Code actions for input into the National Finance Center's automated payroll/personnel systems.
- Respond to customer inquiries on procedures for filing applications, status of recruitments, and kinds of vacancies in the organization.
- Manage pre-employment process for new hires.
- Compute service computation dates and variety of federal service credits.
- Coordinate all pre-employment process requirements and conduct reference checks.
- Establish, maintain, and close out recruitment files and other required records.
The ideal candidate will have previous federal experience and be a US Citizen. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of the following systems: National Finance Center (NFC) EmpowHR, EPIC, EPP, Mainframe System, Government Retirement and Benefits Platform (GRB), eOPF, Microsoft Suite, and HC Dashboard.
