Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Assistant to provide support for a one-year contract plus option years. The ideal candidate will have previous federal experience and be a US Citizen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for new employee orientation and offboarding.
  • Process personnel actions, including in-processing selectees, promotions, awards, details, and terminations.
  • Support HC staff with administrative needs and ensure that the correct documentation is submitted with all personnel actions.
  • Input and verify documents for employment in the USA Staffing database and ensure that all personnel actions are submitted and input on a timely basis.
  • Stay apprised of human resource terminology, requirements, procedures, and regulations governing recruitment, staffing, and placement.
  • Coordinate EOD dates for new hires and follow-up with all candidates with offer letters.
  • Participate in conducting new employee orientation, including presenting information, completing new hire paperwork, and follow-up with one-on-one counseling with new hires.
  • Responsible for onboarding procedures and requirements, including the development of tentative offers, final offers, and letters, review all onboarding paperwork, one-on-one counseling sessions, security packages, medical packages, etc.
  • Update GPO's SF52 Dashboard/Tracker with accurate and concise information.
  • Code actions for input into the National Finance Center's (NFC) automated payroll/personnel systems and review and follow-up on error listings and computer edits from data input to ensure personnel actions are submitted and input on a timely basis.
  • Respond to customer inquiries on procedures for filing applications, status of recruitments, kinds of vacancies in the organization, etc.
  • Manage pre-employment process for new hires, compute service computation dates, and variety of federal service credits.
  • Coordinate all pre-employment process requirements and conduct reference checks, screen pre-employment forms for accuracy and completeness, and assist selectees in filling out forms when needed.
  • Establish, maintain, and close out recruitment files and other required records.
  • Respond to applicant questions concerning the application process, status of applications, etc., in an automated HR System.
Requirements
  • Previous federal experience.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Working knowledge of National Finance Center (NFC) EmpowHR, EPIC, EPP, Mainframe System, Government Retirement and Benefits Platform (GRB), eOPF, Microsoft Suite, and HC Dashboard.
