Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Associate, or VP, to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in sourcing buy-side deals, leveraging their sales acumen and market understanding to identify and engage potential investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and source potential buy-side deals for private equity clients through market research, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, including business owners, financial advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Execute inside sales strategies to engage and qualify prospects, leading to successful deal origination.
  • Collaborate with the investment banking team to evaluate deal feasibility and support transaction execution.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends, industry challenges, and investment opportunities.
  • Achieve targeted goals and contribute to the overall success of the investment banking team.
  • Cold outreach and prospecting, including heavy reliance on cold calling.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in inside sales, preferably within the financial services, investment banking, or private equity sectors.
  • Prior success in cold calling is instrumental.
  • Prior successful experience in having outreach and sales success being tracked through KPIs and monthly and quarterly reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively source deals and drive business development initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to assess complex information and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred but open to all majors.
Compensation
  • The first year On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is $130,000+, comprising a base salary plus performance-based incentives with uncapped commission opportunity. This role's compensation is heavily weighted towards commission and performance bonuses.
Work Model
  • This position offers a remote or hybrid work model, allowing for a flexible combination of in-office and remote work to best support our team's productivity and work-life balance.
