We are looking for a SAP Program Coordinator who thrives in a dynamic environment, eager to tackle complex challenges and manage significant information technology initiatives across various operational sectors within a regulated utility organization.
This role entails overseeing the planning, coordination, monitoring, and execution of a comprehensive, long-term initiative aimed at upgrading the current SAP ERP system to S4/HANA for a utility provider.
The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of critical elements of the project management lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, and risk management.
The ideal applicant should possess outstanding project management capabilities, extensive experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale SAP projects from conception to deployment, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project team members, manage budgets and timelines, ensure adherence to contracts, and act as the primary liaison with clients.
- Oversee technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of assigned tasks or functions.
- Exhibit strong, proactive leadership skills that motivate multidisciplinary teams to meet business requirements for designated projects.
- Guide project team members, including executives, subject matter experts, financial controllers, and schedulers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project teams that typically include multiple vendors with both onshore and offshore resources.
- Develop project management strategies, establish expectations, conduct governance reviews, and ensure compliance with organizational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables.
- Ensure that requirements are collected, documented, reviewed, and approved according to organizational standards.
- Work with the assigned scheduler to create a work breakdown structure that outlines all activities necessary for project deliverables.
- Manage project finances, maintain financial plans, track actual expenditures against forecasts, and provide monthly updates.
- Deliver high-quality, informative written and verbal communications regarding project status, including weekly updates and dashboards.
- Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, achievement of milestones, and overall quality of project deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 8+ years of substantial Project Management experience on enterprise-level initiatives.
- Proven experience in implementing SAP solutions is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of Project Management principles, including financial management, scheduling, scope management, and testing, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships, partnerships, and external networks.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
- Exceptional customer-facing skills.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection and other relevant guidelines.
- Experience in the utility sector is required.
PMP Certification
Previous involvement in RFP preparation and the Systems Integrator selection process for SAP programs is advantageous.
This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States directly for an employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
