Position Overview

Your Role

The Trust Assurance Services team is dedicated to ensuring adherence to information security regulations and internal policies, aiming to protect company assets while maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. The Principal Specialist in Technical Business Resilience will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Business Continuity within the Information Security, Risk, and Operations division. In this capacity, you will implement a comprehensive Business Continuity program focused on resilience and collaborate with a team of experts to guarantee that Blue Shield can effectively recover from any business interruptions.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
  • Offer expert knowledge, strategic direction, and support across security and governance risk management areas.
  • Advance technical Business Continuity by collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Oversee the technical Business Continuity function and uphold the business continuity management framework.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Business Continuity, responsible for the complete delivery of related products.
  • Document and share the technical Business Continuity framework, standards, templates, and tools.
  • Develop program status reports, metrics, and other reporting requirements for various management levels.
  • Coordinate Business Continuity plan exercises and testing.
  • Educate plan owners and editors on Business Continuity principles.
  • Advise on the Incident Command System.
Qualifications

Your Expertise and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Certification as a Business Continuity Professional or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Practical experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery from a business perspective is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of executing Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs), and Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
  • Experience with cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware, is desirable.

The compensation range for this role is competitive and reflects the pay scale for similar positions within the organization.
