Principal of Strategic Planning and Performance

The Transformation, Operations, and Customer Experience team is dedicated to achieving operational excellence, fostering continuous improvement, and driving transformative change that ensures quality outcomes and sustainable affordability for our members, providers, and partners.
In this capacity, you will offer strategic guidance and daily support for the organizational and communication needs of the Transformation team, including assisting the VP of Transformation in effective decision-making, project management, and the execution of strategic initiatives.
Your ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will:
1. Oversee the planning and execution tracking of intricate programs that span various business areas, incorporating multiple projects and initiatives. Ensure accountability to monitor execution and deliver on action plans, guiding them to successful completion.
2. Develop presentations and speaking points for leadership meetings. Summarize information for Senior Leadership in a clear, action-oriented, and visually engaging manner.
3. Drive processes to create and monitor progress against strategic pillars, annual objectives, and quarterly milestones.
4. Collaborate with leadership to formulate a long-term strategic plan that aligns with operational and customer experience goals, ensuring coherence with the enterprise strategy.
5. Integrate the long-term strategic roadmap with other essential organizations across the enterprise.
6. Foster cross-functional relationships to identify synergies, gaps, dependencies, and other critical business challenges. Facilitate regular meetings with these organizations.
7. Organize and manage team meetings for the Director+ and VP+ community throughout the year.
8. Handle communications, including All-Hands meetings, monthly newsletters, external speaking engagements, leadership huddles, board reporting, and other vital communications.
9. Create and maintain an annual calendar to ensure timely delivery of all materials, with appropriate leadership review prior to deadlines.
10. Coordinate volunteer opportunities for the organization and monitor performance against Corporate Citizenship objectives.11. Provide support for human resource capacity and development in collaboration with the People & Engagement team.
Your Qualifications
• Exceptional attention to detail
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is necessary
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver quality reporting suitable for Senior Leadership and Board of Directors
• Capability to apply critical thinking to the strategic plan and influence alignment across functions within the team and the broader enterprise
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is essential
Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this role is: $146,000.00 to $218,900.00 for California.
Note:
This range reflects the compensation for this and various other positions at Blue Shield that fall within this pay grade.
Compensation at Blue Shield is determined by several factors, including the candidate's experience, location, and current employee salaries for similar roles.
