About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bridge Inspector to join our team at Kleinfelder, a leading professional services firm specializing in construction management and surveying. As a Senior Bridge Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of bridge construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect materials and construction methods to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Perform tests and inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Document and report findings, including pay quantities and final estimates.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation construction, including bridge construction and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and construction project documentation procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some education or training in civil engineering, construction technology, or related field.
  • Industry and VDOT certifications preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Familiarity with PC-based computer systems and/or tablet systems.
  • Current/valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
Physical Demands
  • Work in potentially harsh outdoor conditions and hazards, including heights, heavy equipment, and highway traffic.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
