Position Overview:
As an Entry-Level Financial Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial data and its alignment with the designated accounts.

Your responsibilities will encompass various finance and accounting functions, including processing, reconciling, monitoring, and reporting on the financial activities associated with private events and select restaurant venues.

Your meticulous attention to detail and customer-centric approach will be vital in enhancing our processes and surpassing the expectations of our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the establishment, upkeep, and oversight of the Daily Sales Report (DSR).
Financial Reporting:

  • Input financial data into ledgers or departmental accounting systems by preparing and uploading journal entries.
Reconciliation:
Ensure internal records are reconciled with the University financial system. Investigate discrepancies and rectify errors or escalate them to the financial manager for further review.

  • Review, approve, and reconcile internal service deliveries (ISDs), ACH/wire transfers, credit card transactions, and direct billing.
  • Collaborate with the Private Events team to secure customer charge codes prior to events and generate Salesforce reports to accurately post revenue to the appropriate cost centers/accounts on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Monitor and resolve all outstanding balances related to Private Events in a timely manner.
  • Engage with the Private Events team and financial manager to ensure all revenue, adjustments, and liabilities are recorded correctly.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the financial manager during month-end closing processes, including revenue and expense journal entries and accruals for Private Events.
  • Assist the financial manager and Private Events/Restaurant Senior Associate Director with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Additional Duties:

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or requested.

Compensation: This position offers a pay range of $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or related undergraduate study.

Completion of college coursework in business administration, accounting, or a related field, along with 1-2 years of relevant work experience, is preferred. A high school diploma may be considered in combination with experience.


  • Experience level: 2 years

Expertise:

  • Relevant office financial experience is essential, providing knowledge of accounts payable, income and expense accounting, reconciliation, and budget preparation.
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of navigating both operational and financial aspects of a retail business.
