The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) / Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for crafting and executing strategies that resonate with the organization's mission, vision, and core values. Key ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to management teams within assigned areas.
- Oversee the continuous enhancement of services, policies, processes, and programs.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and initiatives.
- Manage operations, budgetary considerations, financial targets, and human resources.
- Collaborate with medical staff to address concerns and opportunities for improving patient care and service growth.
- Lead staffing and performance standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed on innovations and trends in healthcare practice and technology, advocating for changes that enhance quality and efficiency.
- Design and execute initiatives that foster a culture of service excellence, aiming to improve patient experiences and satisfaction metrics.
- Coordinate financial management, including annual budget development and variance analysis.
- Monitor productivity within assigned areas, seeking improvements through effective delegation and resource management.
- Engage in strategic planning to ensure growth and service provision in the community.
- Support student clinical programs and partnerships with educational institutions to promote careers in healthcare.
- Ensure adherence to Human Resources standards and support programs that enhance staff motivation and effectiveness.
Experience:
- A minimum of three to five years of progressive leadership experience is required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Mandatory Credentials:
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to employment.
- Registered Nurse license from the Illinois Board of Nursing required prior to employment.
Education:
- A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related health field is required.
