Weekly Hours: 37.5
Job Overview: We are looking for a committed Itinerant Certified School Nurse (CSN) to become part of our educational team. This role will require traveling between multiple schools, including a middle school and several elementary schools. The CSN will work in collaboration with full-time registered nurses in each health office, focusing on assessing students with special needs, liaising with external healthcare providers for students with significant medical requirements, and offering support in health offices as necessary.
Number of Openings: 1
Essential Qualifications:
- State Licensure: Active RN License
- Educator Credential: Professional Educator License with Endorsement in School Nursing (PEL with CSN endorsement) or actively pursuing it. Candidates who have not initiated this process are not eligible for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations for students requiring special education services.
- Engage with external health providers concerning students with complex medical needs.
- Assist and provide coverage in health offices as needed.
- Work collaboratively with school personnel and administration to promote student health and wellness.
Required Skills:
- Current RN License.
- Professional Educator License with Endorsement in School Nursing (PEL with CSN endorsement) or in the process of obtaining it. This is non-negotiable.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
