Program Nurse

Maryville Academy is seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality healthcare services to unaccompanied children. As a Program Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of quality health services according to the standards and guidelines of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
Key Responsibilities- Monitor health care delivery to children at assigned sites, including initial medical examinations, attention to medical complaints, and timely implementation of recommendations from medical consultations.
- Administer medications, store, document, and obtain consents.
- Deliver prescribed patient care, follow-through on physicians' orders, and ensure accurate and timely completion of prescription and lab work.
- Coordinate with program and case management to ensure safe and timely family reunification.
- Accurately enter patient medical records into the ORR portal system.
- Conduct staff training on the Administration of Medical Monitoring (AMM) and develop/present medical workshops and trainings.
- Communicate with therapists, dieticians, and psychiatrists, and participate in internal case staffing and treatment team meetings.
- Implement Maryville's Zero Tolerance of Sexual Abuse policy and initiate professional trauma-informed response in the event of sexual abuse.
- Schedule timely medical appointments and accompany children to appointments as needed.
- Maintain communication, consultation, and notification with the health division of ORR.
- Remain knowledgeable about communicable diseases, pandemics, epidemics, and other public health hazards that could affect the LTFC population.
- Be on-call 24 hours as needed for crisis situations.
- Participate in continued performance quality improvement.
- Minimum of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
- One-year experience in pediatric nursing.
- Physical assessment coursework preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Proven teamwork capacity, both with nurse colleagues and program staff.
- Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Current certification in infant/child/adult CPR.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language competency preferred.
- Work is performed in a designated program.
- Duties involve contact with youth who may be traumatized.
- Will be scheduled to work on weekends and/or holidays.
